ADMISSIONS POLICY

Genesis Christian School offers a college pre-preparatory educational program and admission is based on the student application file and availability of space. Parents of students who are admitted to Genesis Christian School must agree to adhere to the “Family Commitment.” It is critically important that the student and his/her parents or guardian be regular worshipers in a local Christian congregation.

Genesis Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Genesis does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, and ethnic origin in administrative policies, scholarship programs, athletic or any other school administered programs.

Application to Genesis Christian School includes; a completed admissions application, a recent photo, a $100.00 non refundable registration fee, personal recommendation from the applicant’s church, birth certificate, transcript of academic work, current achievement test scores, attendance and discipline file, a certificate of eye, ear, and dental exams, and a Georgia certificate of immunization. An entrance exam is also administered to students at the discretion of the administrator. A signed “Family Commitment” form (upon acceptance), a completed parent/student questionnaire (upon acceptance), guidance counselor recommendation (middle school), and a teacher recommendation letter (middle school) are also required. Interviews are granted to applicants whose qualifications meet Genesis’ admission standards.

Once complete, the applicant’s file is reviewed by the admission committee and each applicant is notified concerning status of acceptance and appropriate grade placement according to Genesis’ academic standards. If it becomes apparent anytime during the school year that the student is not demonstrating academic success, the teacher and administration reserve the right to move the student to another grade level or to retain the student in the same grade level the following year. Final grade placement decisions will be made by Genesis and will reflect the school’s desire to place the student in the most appropriate academic environment.

K-4 applicants should be four years old, and K-5 applicants should be five years old on or before September 1 of the year of entry. Applicants for the first grade must be six years old on or before September 1 of the year of entry.

Students enrolled in Genesis Christian School are expected to maintain high standards of integrity and personal morality. Please do not attempt to enroll a student who does not have a firm desire to attend a Christian school. A student entering with rebellious or negative attitudes can affect other students, to the detriment of Genesis’ spiritual and academic objectives.
